Preparing for a visit to VMFA-French Impressionism
October 1, 2008 · No Comments
In preparation for our upcoming field trip to Richmond to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts I would like us to study a little about French impressionism. Next thursday you will have to turn in a small project on French impressionism. We will be doing a reproduction painting of a famous impressionist work of art. It won’t be judged on its artistic qualities but on the effort that is apparently put into it. On an index card that we will attach to the bottom, you must give the following information about the painting:
Artist name - L’artiste s’appelle
Date of the painting - C’est du 1870
The name of the painting- Le tableau s’appelle_______________
And a brief description in English. (2-3 sentences that will help people understand the painting)

Hi classes!

Objectives:
1. A functioning email account
2. Open a Quia account.
1.) A functioning email account: You will have to have a functioning email account for my class. MSN and AOL don’t work at school. Please see the link on the side of this page to access Yahoo or Gmail. You need to write down your password and user name on a piece of paper and put it in a safe place. For example tape it under the side tables!!! If you don’t do this you will forget and then you will not be able to participate in quizzes and activities!!! I repeat DO NOT LOSE YOUR PASSWORD AND USERNAME!!! Also a word from the technological wise: always use the same username and password for different online accounts. You will never be able to remember all the different passwords. Good Luck!
2.) Open a Quia account: Once you have completed this step or if you already have an email go to the Quia website (link on the side bar) and create an account there using the same user name and password. You will need a class activitation code.

Spanish 1 NMS A-describing clothes
January 2, 2008 · 20 Comments
Welcome back. Bienvenidos de nuevo! We are going to begin using this blog in our class on a daily basis. Today you are going to use it to turn in an assignment. Here it is:
Describing someone’s clothing. In spanish adjectives and colors come after the object. We say “red shirt” and in spanish you say “shirt red.” But you already know that. In addition to that the color in spanish has to agree with the object. So red would have to have an “a” on the end- una camisa roja. You know that already as well. Using that information and pages 80-81 in your text book describe a picture that you choose from a magazine. You should use the verb llevar-to wear or carry.
Yo llevo. Tu llevas. Ella lleva. Nosotros llevamos. Ellos llevan.
When you are ready to write click below on comment and send it directly to me. Don’t forget your name and email.
